Get To Know Me
What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
I struggled after my first daughter was born with extreme anxiety and panic attacks and it was recommended by my then primary care provider to pursue therapy through my EAP. I did for 10 sessions and I concluded that I was still grieving the death of my father after 10 years. It was a transformational discovery and that was when I knew I wanted to help someone overcome like I did.
What would be important for someone to know about working with you?
My goal for clients is to leave therapy differently than when they come in. You will be challenged to think differently and encouraged to push on through difficult times. I listen, provide empathy, and try to uplift you when you're feeling the lowest. We're in this together. It is your narrative and experience and it is indeed a gift if you allow me into your world. I will take this gift seriously and walk with you while you reach your breakthroughs.
What do you think is the biggest barrier today for people seeking care?
I believe being uninsured, underinsured, or unable to pay for co-pays with insurance is a huge barrier that I see often. Cost-effective therapy services are difficult to find and that is why I choose to provide lower-cost, but high-quality therapy services without having to succumb to the red-tape that sometimes comes with filing claims through insurance.
