What would be important for someone to know about working with you?
Anxiety's like that overly chatty neighbor - always showing up unannounced. Do you find yourself constantly fighting to escape the headache of your worries? Together, we can learn how to show anxiety the door. But hey, it's not just about getting rid of the "bad" stuff, it's about boosting your confidence and watching yourself become an anxiety-fighting ninja. Helping you tackle the panic attacks and overthinking is my jam. I even have a secret weapon in the fight against anxiety - my trusty therapy dog, Remmi. Our ideal client is ready and motivated to learn about managing stress, embracing the moment, and wagging off worries. Yes, I'm a licensed therapist, but what I'm really passionate about is helping you learn to show anxiety who's boss. Picture this: you, me, and my furry therapist co-pilot (and hopefully a cup of coffee). My office is a comfy place where you can be real without any judgement. We'll dissect patterns and make plans to knock out anxiety roadblocks. Life's a rollercoaster, and sometimes we need a little nudge to ride it like a pro. Therapy might sound like a big leap, but trust me, it's a leap towards reclaiming your life. You can say all the bad words in my office and together we can work towards having more good days. I'm here, your dog-friendly ally, and I look forward to chatting with you soon!
In what ways does your personality influence your approach to therapy?
Coming to therapy should feel like sitting down with a friend- except your friend is a knowledgeable professional who has boundaries! Know that I'm a genuine person who has had real (and difficult) life experiences just like you! Although our time together will be all about you, I will sometimes briefly share own experiences so that you know you are not alone in how you feel! I may wear jeans to work most days and you can use all the bad words in my office! My office space is eclectic and a bit quirky (but hey, so am I). You'll be surrounded by my pet plants and get hugs from my therapy dog, Remmi- and I promise I won't be offended if you don't want to see my camera roll full of pet pictures!

Work History
Before becoming a therapist, I was an educator for many years which helped me understand how disruptions in early developmental stages affects clients throughout their lifespan. From there I transitioned into child advocacy work and began pursuing clinical licensure. Seeing children and families in crisis spotlighted the importance of access to mental health services. My background in child and human development, along with years spent assessing the unique experiences and traumas of individuals taught me that healthy relationships and healthy families are crucial! I love helping people find a balance between freedom and accountability in relationships and have a passion for helping couple's find healing through love, understanding, and positive communication. I am also a wife and a mom to three wonderful (albeit maddeningly energetic) boys. We do sports, we do rough-housing, and we do LOUD very well. In addition to being a rowdy bunch, we have also spent the last seven years blending this amazing family. Divorce recovery and blended family issues are something that I specialize in and have experienced personally. When we start talking about these hard topics in counseling, know that I've been there, done that, still have the t-shirt and am here to hold space for you to discuss how these things personally impact your life.
