Work HistoryBefore I became a therapist, I spent years working in finance. I did well, but I kept noticing how many accomplished people around me — myself included — were chasing goals that didn't deliver much peace once they arrived. That question eventually pulled me out of one career and into a very different one. I trained at the University of Pennsylvania both as a clinical therapist and in the science of human wellbeing — the research on what actually helps people feel grounded and alive, not just less stressed. I'm less interested in what's wrong with someone than in what a good life looks like for them. I later led a team at a mental health company tasked with separating what sounds good from what genuinely helps people change, which made me a more careful, honest practitioner. But the heart of the work has always been in the room with people, and I've been doing that for more than fifteen years. Most of the people I see are high-functioning adults in their 20s, 30s, and 40s — a lot of them men — who look like they have it figured out and are privately wrestling with anxiety, dissatisfaction, a hard transition, or relationships that aren't working. I came from that world myself, so I know how rarely ambitious, self-reliant people let themselves slow down and look at what's actually going on. My job isn't to hand you a worksheet — it's to help you understand yourself more clearly and build a life that feels like yours.
