In what ways do your life philosophy and treatment philosophy overlap?
My life philosophy is deeply routed in the existentialist views of J.L. Austin, Ludwig Wittgenstein, and Stanley Cavell. They taught me that we must mean what we say, that ordinary language is all we need to interpret the world, and that conversation is the epicenter of our realities. These principles inspire each aspect of my life, including my philosophy on treatment of those with mental health concerns. Whenever we enter into a conversation, we are negotiating how we view the world, what we value, and how your treatment will progress based on our shared interpretation of your unique situation. When we agree in language/conversation, we can agree upon which route to purposeful living you would like to take, whether that is solely talk therapy, psychotropic medication, both, or even non treatment. An ongoing conversation is the key to happiness, and I'd like to continue that conversation with you as long as you need.
How does collaboration with other providers play into your work?
If you have other providers, whether a counselor, neurologist, cardiologist, primary care, etc., I would appreciate collaborating with them as much as possible. This will ensure that I do not contradict or inhibit what they are trying to do and vice-versa. And since I do not offer extensive psychotherapy, but believe that psychotherapy and medication management work best in tandem, I refer my clients to LCSWs and LMHCs often. In addition, because I do not currently prescribe controlled substances, I will often pass a client's case onto my colleagues who can more appropriately manage diagnoses in which controlled substances may be necessary.
What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?
As an existentialist who values conversation and meaningful discussion, I deeply value and rely upon the principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI) for all my psychotherapeutic interventions.

Education
Walden Univerity, Master of Science in Nursing, Psychiatric-Mental Nurse Practitioner, 2024
Walden University provided me with the training I needed to legally practice as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. Through both didactic and practical experiences, I learned how to practice medication management, interpret labs, perform psychotherapy, and advocate for my client. The last year of the program was split between the online classroom and the in-person practicum experience, where I learned from providers in 4 different psychiatric practices. My first practicum was with a nurse practitioner at a clinic for those with developmental delays and autism; my second practicum took place in a LCSW's outpatient therapy office, the primary clients of which struggled with PTSD, military trauma, and peripartum mental health concerns; and my last two practicums exposed me to every psychiatric disorder I learned in the classroom via both in-person and telehealth platforms. These eclectic experiences helped me to be the well-rounded clinician that I am today.
Work History
My career in psychiatry started at Stetson University where I majored in Psychology. I planned on becoming a licensed psychologist, but life took me in a different direction. After leaving Stetson with just a Bachelor's in psychology, I wasn't qualified for many jobs, and so I took a position as a mental health technician at Central Florida Behavioral Hospital. That is where I got to work alongside numerous nurses who were dedicated to helping people with mental health issues. I decided that I wanted what they had, and so after 3.5 years there I started a 1-year accelerated BSN program at ECPI University. The year was intense, but I enjoyed the challenge and did very well. Once I graduated I immediately started a position at South Seminole Behavioral Hospital as a psychiatric-mental health nurse. As stressful at the job was treating acutely ill clients, I found a deep sense of purpose and fulfillment there. However, I was only there for about a year and a half because I was persuaded to take a travel nurse opportunity in Fort Wayen, Indiana, at Parkview Behavioral health. The job was very similar, but paid more and allowed me to finish paying my student loans, buy a house, and meet other amazing nurses from all over the country. After a year and half there, I moved back to Florida to finish my MSN degree at Walden University. While attending their online program, I took a job at La Amistad Residential Treatment Center in Winter Park, Florida, where I got to help clients who were not acutely ill with psychiatric concerns. After one and a half years there, I graduated from Walden University and took a job as a Psychiatric-Mental health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) at Spark Wellness Group. I truly enjoyed my role as a prescriber there because getting to help clients in such a significant way was quite rewarding. After just 7 months, I realized that I could still have that benefit without the bureaucracy, and decided to start Mindful Clarity Psychiatric Solutions, PLLC. As a business owner, I have much more control over how I can help people. Looking back at the road I took to get to where I am today, I realize that I don't regret any of my career decisions along the way. Everything I experienced led me to exactly where I needed to be at the time, and now I am proud to say that where I need to be is exactly where I am at: Mindful Clarity Psychiatric Solutions, PLLC, where I can help you to the best of my ability.
