If there was one thing you wish people knew about the therapy experience who might be hesitant to try it, what would that be?
I think a lot of times people feel like they have to be in crisis in order to reach out and that their problems are not big enough. We all have situations in life where we wish we could talk to someone and feel listened to; my goal is to make therapy that place. If you are having feelings of anxiety, stress, work issues and relationship issues therapy can be a helpful place for you.

Professional Background
LicensureNew York, Licensed Mental Health Counselor, 004378
Education
Lesley University, Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, 2005
Work HistoryI have worked in numerous settings over the last 16 years, from homeless shelters to being a care manager in the community for clients with mental illness to doing individual therapy. Through all these roles I have gained the knowledge that we have to meet others where they are. We cannot force others to change, and we can only focus on the changes we want to make within ourselves. We all have goals in life and need support and guidance to achieve those goals.
In my role as Assistant Program Director in a care management agency I feel I was able to improve on my communication, time management and problem-solving skills and I was able to help my coworkers work on these skills as well.
