What is your style/approach to therapy?
Are you feeling stuck in destructive patterns or struggling to navigate relationship hurdles? As an LMFT, I'm here to help you create the life you want. I know that seeking therapy can be a daunting experience, but I believe that it's a courageous step towards achieving your goals. My approach is rooted in compassion, empathy, and collaboration. Drawing on the research of Drs. John and Julie Gottman, I focus on building stronger emotional connections, improving communication skills, and fostering a deeper sense of understanding and intimacy. I work collaboratively with my clients to identify their unique strengths and challenges and develop practical strategies to address their concerns. Whether you're facing communication issues, trust and intimacy problems, or other challenges in your relationship, I'm here to help. My goal is to create a safe and non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and emotions, develop practical tools, and achieve the life you want. If you're ready to break free from destructive patterns and create the life you deserve, I'm here to support you every step of the way.
What would be important for someone to know about working with you?
If you're considering working with me, it's important to know that my approach is client-centered, practical, and goal-oriented. While I believe in the importance of building a strong therapeutic relationship and providing a safe and supportive space for clients to explore their thoughts and emotions, I also believe in taking practical steps to achieve tangible goals. One of the most important aspects of my approach is working collaboratively with my clients to identify their unique strengths and challenges, and develop practical strategies to address their concerns. I believe in empowering clients to take an active role in their own healing journey, and providing them with the tools and support they need to achieve their goals. Overall, if you're looking for a therapist who is warm, empathetic, and committed to helping you achieve your goals, I'd be honored to work with you. Whether you're facing relationship challenges, anxiety, depression, or other concerns, I'm here to support you every step of the way and help you achieve the life you want.
What does success look like in therapy? How will a client know that they are making progress?
Great question! Success in therapy can look different for each client, as everyone's goals and concerns are unique. However, generally speaking, success in therapy can be defined as achieving the goals that you set out to accomplish at the beginning of therapy. Throughout the course of therapy, clients will often see progress in a variety of areas, such as improved communication, reduced conflict, increased emotional regulation, and greater intimacy and connection in their relationships. Other signs of progress might include increased self-awareness, improved coping skills, and greater overall life satisfaction. As a therapist, I work collaboratively with my clients to develop clear and measurable goals, so that progress can be tracked and celebrated throughout the course of therapy. I encourage my clients to regularly reflect on their progress and identify areas where they have seen growth or improvement. Ultimately, success in therapy is about achieving the life that you want and breaking free from destructive patterns. If you're feeling more connected, fulfilled, and supported in your relationships, and if you're able to navigate challenges more effectively, then you're likely making progress in therapy. And as your therapist, I'm here to support you every step of the way and help you achieve your goals.

I completed my Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy at the Fuller School of Psychology in Pasadena in 2008. Following graduation, I had the privilege of training in Restoration Therapy under the guidance of esteemed professors Terry and Sharon Hargrave. This enriching experience deepened my understanding of systemic therapy and relational dynamics. I'm dedicated to applying evidence-based counseling techniques to support individuals, couples, and families on their journey toward healing and personal growth.
Work History
As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 17 years of experience—and more than a decade as the Director of Relationships For Better—I have dedicated my career to helping couples heal, grow, and thrive in their relationships. Early in my undergraduate studies, I had the privilege of learning from beloved authors and couples therapists Drs. Les and Leslie Parrott, which profoundly shaped my approach to couples therapy. I have also trained under Dr. Terry Hargrave in the Restoration Therapy model, enhancing my ability to support couples in restoring their relationships. I am the author of The Relationship Book for New Couples, a guide that offers practical advice and tools for building and maintaining healthy relationships. My therapeutic approach is grounded in the research of Drs. John and Julie Gottman, focusing on strengthening emotional connections, improving communication skills, and fostering deeper understanding and intimacy between partners. I believe every couple has the potential to achieve a healthy and fulfilling relationship, though sometimes we all need a little guidance to get there. I work collaboratively with couples to identify their unique strengths and challenges, developing practical tools and strategies to overcome obstacles and strengthen their bond. Whether you are struggling with communication issues, trust and intimacy problems, or other challenges in your relationship, I am here to help. I invite you to contact me to schedule a free consultation and take the first step towards a stronger, more fulfilling relationship.
