Get To Know Me
What does a first session with you look like?
Our first session is mostly about getting to know each other. I'll ask open-ended questions about what's bringing you in, your background, and what you're hoping for. You won't be expected to share everything at once we go at your pace. Before that, I offer a free 20-minute consultation where you can ask questions and get a feel for whether we're a good fit.
If there was one thing you wish people knew about the therapy experience who might be hesitant to try it, what would that be?
That you don't have to have it figured out before you come in.
Most people who reach out to me have been sitting with something for a long time sometimes years. They've waited until they felt ready, or until they had the right words, or until things got bad
enough to justify asking for help. And almost universally, the thing they say after our first session is some version of: "I wish I'd done this sooner."
You don't need a neat explanation. You don't need to know exactly what's wrong or what you want to work on. You can come in uncertain, scared, or not even sure this is the right fit. That's a completely normal place to start. What matters is that something brought you here. That's enough.
What would be important for someone to know about working with you?
I follow your lead but I don't leave you alone in it.
Working with me is collaborative. I'm not a blank screen who nods and reflects things back. I'm warm, direct, and genuinely curious about you. I'll ask questions that go beneath the surface, notice
things you might not have said out loud yet, and sit with you in the hard moments without flinching.
I also bring my whole self to this work. I'm a longtime therapy client myself. I know what it feels like to sit in that chair. That shapes how I show up.
Sessions are body-aware. We pay attention to what's happening in you while we talk, not just what you're saying. And we move at your pace. Nothing is forced, nothing is off-limits, and nothing you bring in here will make me think less of you.
All of you is welcome in this room.

Work HistoryI'm an AASECT-Certified Sex Therapist and Advanced EFT therapist in Herndon, VA specializing in the intersection of anxiety, attachment, and sexuality because for most of my clients, they're not separate struggles. They're the same wound showing up in different places.
I work with individuals and couples using an attachment-based, somatic approach that goes to the root rather than the surface. We explore where your patterns began, what your nervous system learned to do to keep you safe, and how to shift those patterns at the level where lasting change actually lives.
My practice is sex-positive, kink-allied, LGBTQ+ affirming, and non-monogamy affirming. All identities, relationship structures, and expressions of sexuality are genuinely welcome here.
