Education
Walden University, Master of Social Work, 2023
Work HistoryI spent 22 years in healthcare before becoming a social worker, and those years taught me something important: medical treatment alone rarely addresses what people struggle with. I watched patients receive excellent clinical care while their real problems went unaddressed. That gap brought me to social work.
My five years in acute care settings meant working with people during crisis. I learned to listen quickly and assess what someone needs versus what they say they need. That skill transferred directly into my current work with addiction, PTSD, chronic illness, and relationship issues. Crisis doesn't always look dramatic. Sometimes it's quiet desperation that's been building for years.
I trained at Walden University in 2023, but my real education came from working with veterans navigating civilian life, individuals managing chronic pain alongside depression, and couples whose relationships had deteriorated under the weight of illness or betrayal.
I work with teenagers, adults, and older individuals dealing with everything from autism and developmental disorders to gambling addiction and infertility grief. My healthcare background means I understand the medical side of chronic conditions, but I focus on how those conditions affect your daily life, your relationships, and sense of self.
