Get To Know Me
What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
I have always had a desire to help others who may be struggling to understand or cope with their mental health issues. This desire grew even stronger after seeking counseling myself to help me process through my own trauma. It was through my own experiences that I was able to witnessed firsthand how counseling helped me develop effective strategies for managing my mental health & work through the trauma. I truly believe that mental health counseling helped save my life, and I'm honored to provide that same help and support to others going through similar situations.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
I utilize a person centered holistic approach to help individuals manage their journey through life. In our sessions you will have a non-judgmental safe atmosphere, where I provide warmth, compassion, and respect. My goal is to meet you where you are at emotionally and get you and your life where you desire it to be. I do provide homework for you to work on between sessions.
What does a first session with you look like?
The initial session I review privacy practices & informed consent to treatment. I utilize the first few sessions for us to get to know eachother. I ask questions to get clarification and more details about what is bringing you to counseling and what you are hoping to gain from our sessions. Also, in the first few sessions we will identify goals you are wanting to achieve.
