Get To Know Me
What should we know about your experiences and background?
I come from a family with a history of mental health issues. It's inspiring to see the developments and positive changes since the time my Nana was finally able to be diagnosed and receive medication, versus my mom's experience, as well as my own generation. I wan to be part of the change that rids society of the stigma of seeking help for mental health concerns.
What do you like about the practice or clinic you currently work at?
I chose to join this practice after meeting with the clinical director and was blown away by her commitment to ethics. Every.single.decision. is based on ethics first and everything else comes second.
If there was one thing you wish people knew about the therapy experience who might be hesitant to try it, what would that be?
I want people who have never experienced therapy to know that it's one of the most unique and supportive environments you can find. While you may have previously relied solely on family and friends to "vent", this is a space where a third party who is impartial and only has your best interest at heart focuses on you and your journey. It allows you to truly be seen.

Education
Georgia State University, Master of Education, School Counseling, 2015 — I earned my Education Specialist (EdS) (there was no option to select it from the dropdown options, hence I selected M.Ed. again).
Georgia State University, Master of Education, School Counseling, 2014 — After earning my M.Ed. in School Counseling, I was hired at my internship site at a middle school in Atlanta Public Schools.
Agnes Scott College, Bachelor of Arts, Psychology, 2012 — I received the foundation of my understanding of psychology while attending Agnes Scott College. It was here that I took a course on basic counseling skills and realized that, despite not enjoying the class, that had more to do with the style of the professor, and that I wanted to go into counseling. I did two internships with school counselors and decided I wanted to go into the field.
Work HistoryI started out in the public education field with experience in Title I schools. I grew disillusioned with the myriad of issues inherent in the education system and took a break to regroup. I have experience with a wide variety of gig work, including but not limited to: dog walking and pet sitting, after-school care, coaching Robotics and Drones teams, academic coordination for an adolescent SCI unit, babysitting, professional organizing, administrative assistance, case management, and teaching English as a second language online. This eventually led me to the Higher Education field where I solidified my desire to work with adolescents and emerging adults individually.
