Get To Know Me
What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
My journey in becoming a therapist developed from years of mental health nursing experience, especially in correctional and hospital settings. I saw firsthand how deeply mental health impacts every part of a person’s life, and I wanted to do more than manage symptoms—I wanted to help people heal.
What inspired me most was witnessing the resilience of individuals who had endured hardship, stigma, or trauma, yet still had the capacity for growth and change. Those moments showed me that with the right support, people can move toward stability, hope, and healthier lives.
Pursuing advanced training in psychiatric nursing allowed me to combine medical expertise with therapeutic skills. This blend means I can listen deeply, provide therapy, and also manage medications when needed. My motivation has always been to meet people where they are, honor their stories, and help them move toward balance and well-being.
What would be important for someone to know about working with you?
When you work with me, you can expect compassion, respect, and a safe space to be yourself. I see therapy as a partnership—we’ll explore your needs together and focus on what matters most to you. With both medical and therapeutic training, I can provide talk therapy and manage medications when appropriate. My approach is collaborative and practical, helping you build tools for resilience, healing, and long-term well-being. Above all, I want you to feel supported and empowered as we work toward meaningful, lasting change.
