What is your style/approach to therapy?
Therapy is a collaborative process, and I am committed to walking alongside you with empathy, compassion, and authenticity. As a trauma-informed therapist my priority is to provide a safe and supportive place for healing, growth and self-discovery. I recognize how past experiences shape emotions, relationships, and sense of self. Together, we'll work at your pace, using approaches that honor your resilience and strengths, helping you regain trust in yourself and move toward meaningful change. I believe in your ability to change and heal.
My approach is integrative, strengths-based, attachment-based, culturally sensitive, and trauma-informed and I will meet you with warmth, compassion and acceptance.
What do you view as a key component of the therapeutic relationship?
Key components of the therapeutic relationship are authenticity - a real human connection- and that the client is met with warmth, acceptance, emotional attunement, curiosity, self-awareness and humility.
In what ways do your life philosophy and treatment philosophy overlap?
I believe, and have seen in my work, that we all have the inner resources already within us that we need for change, healing and growth. My goal is to help you discover and reconnect with yours. And, we also have blind spots and automatic patterns that we repeat - even when they no longer serve us. Sometimes, an outside perspective can help us gain insight and a new view point to our issue - including the old working models that we hold onto as protection. People often wonder why therapists do what they do. What motivates me to do this job is seeing the change happen in my clients when they discover new ways to approach life, connect with their inner resources, their strengths, vitality and resilience, and find new confidence in their ability to cope and heal.

Work HistoryHi! My specialties include cultural adjustment, chronic and acute illness, anxiety and depression, and marriage and relationship issues.
I feel compassionate about helping individuals and couple's navigating interpersonal and life stressors, creating deeper connection, discovering underlying dynamics and historical influence that are impacting their sense of self, emotional health and relationships.
Earlier in my career I specialized in working with clients navigating cultural adjustment due to immigration and refugee experience, and having myself immigrated and moved around a lot I have a special understanding of cultural adjustment. I love coming alongside individuals from diverse backgrounds, cultures, identities, and orientations.
My areas of expertise also include competencies acquired in an Intensive Outpatient Program where I got to be a part of a team providing support groups and therapy for people overcoming crisis, self-harming ideation, navigating acute illness, personality disorders, anxiety and depression, and chronic conditions such as bipolar disorder and psychotic disorders. I also have been personally affected by an autoimmune disorder and know the emotional and mental impact of living with a chronic illness well.
For the last two years I have provided individual and couple's therapy via Telehealth; I am now also available in-person in Newport Beach.
