Under Clinical Supervision

MIchael Shane MaeRhys, Licensed Associate Professional Counselor, 90519 is practicing under the supervision of Mark Cagle (Texas, LPC-S, 71799) at Resonant Changes Counseling PLLC.

Please, note: A clinician listed as being “clinically supervised” is completing clinical hours toward their licensure. They have one or more fully licensed clinical supervisors that often have special training to become supervisors. They consult with their supervisor(s) on all of their cases, which means that, when working with them, you are getting the time and expertise of multiple therapists in your treatment.

What excites you most about the evolving mental health landscape?

What excites me the most is the reality that so many young people are taking mental health so seriously and they are really starting to 'do the work' to unravel their traumas and escape the generational curses that have left so many generations before them fractured and dysfunctional. This is not only leading to more healthy, whole individuals within the collective society but it's exponentially destigmatizing mental health and creator every greater access to the necessary information to start individuals on their journeys to well-being and thriving.

Work History

My work history is extensive and diverse. As a person who started practicing therapy later in life, I have a work history that is incredibly diverse. I've worked as a laborer, a skilled worker, as a service provider in multiple industries, as a middle management leader, an executive leader and as an HR manager. I've also worked as a tutor in academia in anatomy and physiology, worked as a professional photographer and as a Life Coach. This has given me a very rich collection of experiences across social and socioeconomic lines and allowed me - along with my rich lived experience of life - to create understanding and empathy for a wide range of clients. More importantly I believe my history of 'self work' is the most important experience I bring to the table. I've worked intentionally and diligently to overcome my own biases and beliefs, to open myself up to the rich diversity of the world and to live within a constant intention of kindness and care for my fellow human beings.
