Get To Know Me
What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
People have always felt (and continue to feel) comfortable opening up to me and telling me vulnerable things that they couldn't share with others. I felt honored by this and organically developed skills in helping to emotionally support people. I want to use these skills to help make the world a better place and combined my passions of art, psychology, and mental health into this career path. I really do love this job.
In what ways have your personal experiences influenced your work with your clients?
My own healing journey and self discovery helps me to have empathy, understanding, and deep respect for the clients I work with. I understand in a way that someone who hasn't gone through these struggles cannot. Living as a creative, highly sensitive, queer person with neurodiversity and mental health struggles and developing chronic conditions allows me to help others similar to me who have felt different or have struggled to find a sense of belonging and/or understanding. When appropriate, I can share resources or information that I've learned along the way that have been helpful.
