Get To Know Me
What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
I’ve always been drawn to helping others, and marriage and family therapy felt like the right fit because I naturally see things in a systemic, big-picture way. I believe most challenges don’t exist in isolation—there are usually relationships, environments, and patterns that shape what you’re experiencing. My work focuses on understanding that bigger context so you can find support and change that feels meaningful and sustainable.
In what ways does your personality influence your approach to therapy?
My personality shows up in my work through a balance of warmth and honesty. I use humor when it feels right to help clients feel at ease and make difficult conversations a little lighter. At the same time, I’m comfortable being direct when it’s needed—gently naming patterns, offering clear feedback, and not shying away from the hard stuff. Clients often tell me they appreciate that mix of realness, compassion, and the ability to keep things grounded and relatable.

Professional Background
Licensure
Under Supervision: Miriam Ninmann, Marriage and Family Therapist Intern, n/a is practicing under the supervision of Shana Schloemer (Wisconsin, LPC, 5106-125) at Northshore Clinic and Consultants.
Please, note: A clinician listed as being “clinically supervised” is completing clinical hours toward their licensure. They have one or more fully licensed clinical supervisors that often have special training. They consult with their supervisor(s) on all of their cases.
Work HistoryBefore starting my marriage and family therapy training, I spent several years working closely with kids and teens in both residential and day treatment settings. I supported teens with depression and anxiety, and worked with children ages 4–15 facing behavioral challenges, trauma, and social or emotional struggles.
Through that work, I saw how important relationships and family dynamics are in the healing process, which is what inspired me to focus on marriage and family therapy today.
