Is there any research-based work you’ve done that you found particularly exciting, and how has that informed your practice today?
During my time at a neuropsychology clinic in Washington Heights, I focused on early literacy research, which highlighted the critical importance of early intervention for children. While conducting this work, I also noticed that challenges affecting learning such as trauma, complex family dynamics, or acculturation struggles, can impact wellbeing across the lifespan.
I was able to witness firsthand the disparities in our education system, particularly regarding access to special education and equitable resources. This experience shaped how I approach my work today: I advocate for clients of all ages, share resources they might not have known were available, and bring a deep awareness of social and cultural context into therapy. These insights continue to inform my work with adolescents, young adults, and professionals, helping me understand how environmental, relational, and systemic factors intersect with mental health.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
My style is warm, collaborative, and thoughtful. I work with you to understand the patterns in your thoughts, emotions, and relationships that may be keeping you stuck, while also focusing on practical ways to create change. I balance reflection with action, helping you make sense of where patterns come from and how to respond differently in real life.
I draw from evidence-based approaches like CBT, schema therapy, and attachment-informed work, but I tailor therapy to you rather than forcing a one-size-fits-all model. I aim to create a space that feels supportive and nonjudgmental, while also gently challenging you when it feels safe and useful. My goal is for therapy to feel both meaningful and empowering, leaving you with greater clarity, self-understanding, and tools you can use beyond our sessions.
What are some the unique issues faced by clients in your particular field of specialization, in terms of mental health education, care, and/or treatment?
Many of the clients I work with are high-functioning adolescents and adults who appear “fine” on the outside but are quietly struggling with anxiety, self-doubt, or relationship stress. Because they’re capable and accomplished, their distress is often minimized, by others and even by themselves, which can delay getting help and make patterns feel harder to break over time.
Treatment also needs to balance insight with practicality. Many clients don’t just want to talk about what’s wrong, they want to understand why certain patterns repeat and how to make real changes in daily life. Effective care in this space means offering clear psychoeducation, evidence-based tools, and a supportive relationship that helps clients feel understood while actively working toward meaningful, sustainable change.

Work HistoryBefore becoming a therapist, I worked in early literacy research at a clinic in Washington Heights that provided comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations and educational advocacy for underrepresented communities. That experience deepened my understanding of how social context, access, and identity shape mental health which are perspectives I continue to carry into my work today.
I earned my Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Fordham University. I also hold a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from New York University, where my passion for understanding people and advocating for diverse communities first began.
I now work in private practice with adolescents, young adults, and professionals, helping clients navigate anxiety, depression, and repeating patterns in relationships. Along the way, I trained extensively in schema therapy, CBT, attachment-informed approaches, and CBT for insomnia. These experiences inform my warm, collaborative, and culturally attentive approach, helping clients understand the roots of long-standing patterns and build practical strategies for lasting change.
