Work HistoryMy journey in mental health and psychology spans over two decades, and throughout that time I've had the opportunity to develop my skills in some really meaningful and varied settings. Early in my career, I worked as a Clinical Therapist at GlenOaks Therapeutic Day School, where I provided therapy to middle and high school students. This experience taught me how to work collaboratively — with teachers, families, and school staff — to support young people not just emotionally, but academically and socially as well. It's where I first learned that healing doesn't happen in isolation; it takes a whole community working together. From there, I moved into higher education, working as an Adjunct Professor at Argosy University for nearly a decade. I taught courses in Counseling Skills, Couples & Family Therapy, and Group Therapy, and I also mentored practicum students in their hands-on training. Teaching others how to be effective therapists deepened my own understanding of what good therapy actually looks like. Around the same time, I became the Director of Counseling Services at the International Academy of Design & Technology, where I built a counseling department from the ground up. I hired and supervised clinicians, and worked across departments to bring mental health education and outreach to the broader college community. This is where my passion for leadership and creating supportive, inclusive environments really took shape. In 2008, I took the leap into entrepreneurship and founded NVision You, PLLC, my own private practice, which I ran for 16 years. This was where so many of my areas of expertise came together at once. I led a team of therapists, interns, and administrative staff, navigating the full complexity of running a business while also continuing to provide therapy and hypnosis directly to clients. I managed everything from team wellbeing to business growth to crisis situations — and I learned firsthand how much the health of a workplace affects the people within it. Today, through Sharma Psychology, PLLC, I focus my work on professionals — providing psychotherapy and hypnosis, and helping people build stronger relationships both personally and in their careers. Everything I do is grounded in the understanding that mental wellness and professional success are deeply connected, and that a thriving, collaborative environment makes both possible.
