Get To Know Me
In what ways do your life philosophy and treatment philosophy overlap?
I’m passionate about liberation across all dimensions of identity, including race, class, gender, sexuality, and body. As such, I believe therapy should not just help people adapt to oppressive systems, but help them heal and resist. I stand with movements like those for racial justice, LGBTQ+ rights, and fat liberation, and I am kink-aware & poly/CNM-affirming.
Also, I believe humor and authenticity belong in the therapy room – sometimes we’ll swear, sometimes we’ll analyze your favorite TV show, and sometimes we’ll just sit in what’s real. Your personality has space, whether it's swearing, showing off your new piercing or tattoo, sharing pictures of your kids (or pets, or plants, or recent creative hobby), acknowledging your spiritual or cultural ties and values, or having meditative music and essential oils set the space.
Healing isn’t linear, and it’s not just personal. Like so much of life, it’s communal, creative, political, and deeply human. I believe you deserve to be part of a therapeutic space that doesn't shy away from that, just as I wouldn't in other aspects of life.
What would be important for someone to know about working with you?
First, I am a student intern, meaning I am not licensed. As such, I offer heavily reduced rates that cannot be billed through insurance. It also means that I am heavily supervised by licensed individuals to ensure I am providing proper care and to give additional insight into the process (so really you end up getting multiple sets of eyes and ears on your needs while still remaining confidential and bound by the ethics and other requirements of the state).
Additionally, I’m down-to-earth, curious, and collaborative. I acknowledge that there is inherently some hierarchy between a client and provider, but I believe we can alleviate that — and I know you’re the expert on your own life. I’ll meet you where you are with warmth, structure, and honesty. I'd say to expect a mix of depth and practicality — we'll discuss patterns and systems, but also explore concrete ways to cope and move forward. I’m sex-positive, body-liberatory, and neurodivergence-affirming. We can integrate creativity, humor, spirituality, or politics as much or as little as feels right for you.
What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
I came to this work through a deep belief that personal and social healing are intertwined. Before pursuing my Master of Social Work, I attended undergraduate college, where I explored topics of justice and equity. However, I became increasingly frustrated with the many systems in place, and I ultimately decided to leave before continuing in social work as planned. I spent years in the piercing industry, where I witnessed firsthand how authenticity, identity, past experiences, and structural inequality profoundly shape our lives. I heard countless stories in piercing studios of vulnerability and emotion that it felt easy to naturally slide back into the social work field. Social work continued to draw me in because I believe we all deserve space to heal, to never be defined solely by our worst moments, to reconnect with our bodies, communities, and inner voice — and without needing to filter out who we really are. My passion for liberation, storytelling, and justice continues to guide everything I do.

Education
Rutgers University, Master of Social Work — I am currently an MSW intern, completing my degree online through the Rutgers program in 2026.
Work HistoryI began my internship at Community Choice Behavioral Health in Saco, ME, in September 2024, working primarily with clients who used MaineCare and often balanced therapy with complex life stressors and case management needs. This experience helped me build a strong foundation in CBT and DBT, with additional grounding in person-centered, attachment-based, and trauma-informed care. I learned to focus on the skills and strengths each person already brings into the room while helping them build new ones for lasting change. Alongside that structure, my background in cultural awareness and feminist theory shaped how I understand the impact of systemic and structural issues on individual well-being.
In August 2025, I transitioned to The Canvas of Life Counseling in Lewiston, ME, where I’ve been able to deepen and broaden my work. Here, I’ve expanded my knowledge in ACT, mindfulness, and IFS/parts work, while integrating creative and experiential techniques when helpful. I’ve also developed a growing expertise in sex therapy and related areas around identity, intimacy, and sexuality, and have begun exploring Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and somatic therapy. These experiences have strengthened my holistic, integrative style – one that recognizes the mind, body, and spirit as inseparable in the process of healing and liberation.
