Get To Know Me
In what ways have your personal experiences influenced your work with your clients?
As an Afghan-American and the daughter of refugees, my identity has shaped me into someone who is deeply curious about the ways our personal stories intersect with larger social and political realities. My experiences working in more than fifteen refugee camps and studying trauma and mental health have strengthened my belief that healing happens when people feel seen in the fullness of their humanity, not reduced to a diagnosis or problem to solve.
I bring warmth, creativity, and a grounded sense of compassion into the therapy room. I’m not afraid of difficult conversations, and I approach topics like shame, desire, grief, trauma, and identity with openness and care. Clients often tell me they feel safe enough to say what they’ve never said out loud before, and supported enough to imagine new possibilities for themselves.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
My approach is collaborative and relational. I see therapy as a space where we can gently challenge old patterns, make meaning of painful experiences, and create room for more authenticity, connection, and pleasure. Whether you're navigating trauma, painful sex, low desire, relationship challenges, or exploring parts of yourself that have felt hidden, I strive to cultivate a space where your truth is honored and your growth is supported.
