Work HistoryI have been working as a licensed art therapist for over ten years, supporting people through some of life's most difficult and transformative moments. My work has taken me across many different settings, from working with unaccompanied migrant children navigating trauma and displacement, to supporting LGBTQ+ youth experiencing homelessness, to helping adults in private practice find their footing through life transitions, anxiety, depression, and trauma recovery. What has always drawn me to this work is the belief that healing doesn't have to happen through words alone. I use art therapy and creative expression as a doorway for people who may struggle to put their experiences into language, and that includes experiences around identity, relationships, and sexuality. Over the years, I have worked with incredibly diverse populations, and that has shaped me into a therapist who leads with curiosity, cultural humility, and a deep respect for each person's unique story. Now, as I deepen my focus in sexual health, I am bringing all of that experience with me, my trauma-informed foundation, my somatic training, and my genuine belief that sexuality is a natural and important part of overall wellbeing. I want to create a space where clients feel safe, seen, and never judged for what they bring through the door. I work with individuals and am currently accepting new clients for virtual sessions in New York. You can learn more about my practice at natalieafranco.com.
