Get To Know Me
What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
My path to becoming a therapist was shaped by a deep interest in understanding human behavior, resilience, and the ways our experiences shape how we move through the world. Early in my education, I was drawn to the intersection of mental health, family systems, and the impact of social and legal structures on individuals and communities.
Over time, I saw how many people carry silent burdens while still showing up for everyone else. I became a therapist because I wanted to create a space where people feel heard, supported, and empowered to break patterns that no longer serve them. I believe healing is not just about reducing symptoms, but about building emotional strength, clarity, and a life that feels aligned and sustainable.
What would be important for someone to know about working with you?
It would be important to know that working with me is both supportive and structured. I create a space where you can be honest without judgment, but I also help you move toward meaningful change. I am warm and culturally responsive, and I value clarity, accountability, and real-life application. Our work will not stay in the therapy room. We focus on practical tools, emotional regulation, and shifting patterns so you feel the difference in your daily life. You do not need perfect words or a polished story. You just need a willingness to show up and engage in the process.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
My style is warm, direct, and collaborative. I balance compassion with structure, helping you feel supported while also focused on meaningful progress. I integrate trauma informed approaches, EMDR, cognitive and behavioral strategies, and practical coping tools tailored to your needs. I pay close attention to how stress and past experiences live in the body and nervous system, not just in thoughts.
I believe therapy should move beyond insight alone. Together, we identify patterns, process what still feels heavy, and build skills that help you feel calmer, clearer, and more confident in your everyday life.

Education
Springfield College, Master of Social Work, Masters Degree in Social Work, 2007 — My academic training includes a Master’s in Social Work, where I focused on evidence-based practice, trauma-informed care, and culturally responsive treatment approaches. My education emphasized understanding how systemic factors, family dynamics, and lived experiences shape mental health.
My undergraduate background in Criminal Justice, with minors in Psychology and Sociology, deepened my understanding of human behavior, social systems, and the impact of trauma within legal and community contexts. This foundation allows me to thoughtfully support clients navigating high-stakes situations such as custody or immigration matters, while also understanding the broader cultural and systemic influences that affect emotional well-being.
Work HistoryThroughout my career, I have worked in community mental health, private practice, and specialized settings supporting individuals navigating trauma, anxiety, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. These experiences allowed me to work with diverse populations, including those impacted by systemic stress, legal involvement, and complex family dynamics.
Over time, I developed a strong focus on trauma informed care and supporting high functioning adults who appear steady on the outside but feel overwhelmed internally. My work in evaluation settings, including custody and immigration cases, strengthened my ability to assess complex situations thoughtfully while remaining compassionate and grounded.
These experiences shaped my approach today. I am direct, culturally responsive, and focused on helping clients experience meaningful, real world change.
