What are some the unique issues faced by clients in your particular field of specialization, in terms of mental health education, care, and/or treatment?
The biggest issue is lack of relatability. A lot of servicemembers and veterans are hesitant about talking to a therapist because a lot of therapists don't understand them and it isn't just the combat but the culture and even the language.

Work History
I'm a 10 year Air Force veteran who worked with adolescents and children during my internship. After finishing graduate school, I spent two years doing intensive case management services helping clients manage their symptoms of schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and PTSD, getting off the street and rejoin the community. I currently work as part of Joelle Rabow Maletis & Associates focusing on helping active duty military, veterans, their families and first responders.
