What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
My path to becoming a therapist was shaped by lived experience with pressure, adversity, and personal change. Through my background in the military, athletics, and leadership roles, I saw firsthand how stress, unprocessed experiences, and major life transitions can impact confidence, relationships, and overall well-being.
Over time, I became increasingly drawn to the work of helping people not just push through challenges, but understand and process them in a healthy, meaningful way. My own experiences with injury, loss, and transition reinforced the importance of having a space where people can slow down, reflect, and feel genuinely supported.
Becoming a therapist felt like a natural extension of this path—combining my interest in human resilience, performance under pressure, and emotional healing. Today, my work is grounded in helping clients make sense of their experiences, reconnect with their values, and move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and purpose.

Education
Tarleton State University, Master of Science, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, 2024 — I hold a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from a CACREP-accredited university. My graduate training emphasized trauma-informed care, anxiety and stress-related disorders, grief and loss, and working with individuals navigating major life transitions.
In addition to clinical coursework, I completed research and applied training focused on understanding how individuals experience stress, adversity, and change, with an emphasis on meaning-making, resilience, and personal growth. My education integrated evidence-based practices with humanistic and experiential approaches, preparing me to support clients in both emotional healing and personal development.
American Public University System, Master of Science, Sports Management, 2019 — I hold a Master of Science in Sports Management with a concentration in Coaching Leadership and Theory. This graduate program focused on leadership development, motivation, performance under pressure, and the psychological demands placed on athletes and high-performing individuals.
My training included applied coursework examining how confidence, mindset, communication, and leadership impact performance and resilience. This background supports my work with clients navigating performance anxiety, identity development, and high-expectation environments by integrating evidence-based mental skills with counseling principles.
Work HistoryMy work has centered on helping individuals navigate pressure, adversity, and major life transitions with clarity and resilience. I currently provide counseling and mental performance support to adults facing anxiety, trauma, grief, and identity-related challenges, as well as those adjusting to divorce, career stress, and high expectations in life or sport.
Prior to private practice, my professional background included leadership, coaching, and teaching roles where I worked closely with individuals under performance and life stress. These experiences deepened my understanding of how pressure affects confidence, emotional regulation, and decision-making, and how people can learn to respond rather than react during difficult moments.
I also have lived and professional experience working with military and veteran populations, which informs a grounded, trauma-informed approach to counseling. Across all settings, my work has focused on helping clients build self-awareness, process difficult experiences, and develop practical tools to move forward with purpose and confidence.
