Education
Nova Southeastern University, Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, 2016 — My degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling provided the foundation for how I support clients in navigating life’s emotional challenges with compassion and evidence-based care. Through this program, I received advanced training in diagnosing and treating mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. I studied diverse therapeutic approaches—including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and trauma-informed practices—and completed extensive supervised clinical experience working with individuals, couples, and families. As part of my graduate work, I engaged in research on emotional regulation and resilience-building in adolescents and participated in professional counseling organizations focused on ethical care and cultural humility. This academic training, combined with hands-on experience, has shaped the way I create a safe, collaborative space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to grow.
Tuskegee University, Bachelor of Arts, Sociology, 2011 — My degree in Sociology gave me a deep understanding of how social systems, cultural dynamics, and community environments influence individual well-being. Through this program, I explored topics such as family structures, inequality, mental health disparities, and identity development. I engaged in research focused on the intersection of race, class, and mental health access, and participated in student-led initiatives promoting equity and inclusion. This academic foundation has helped me view each client not only as an individual, but also as someone shaped by their relationships, environment, and life experiences. It allows me to approach therapy with a lens of empathy, cultural awareness, and a strong commitment to social justice.
Work HistoryOver the years, I’ve been fortunate to work in a variety of mental health roles that have deepened my commitment to providing accessible, compassionate care. Each experience has helped shape how I support clients facing emotional, behavioral, and life challenges. At GGI Nation, Inc., I served as a Mental Health Programming Consultant, where I helped develop wellness strategies and culturally responsive care models for community-based programs. This role allowed me to blend creativity with clinical insight—ensuring services were both impactful and inclusive. My work as a Licensed Outreach Mental Health Specialist at Integrated Healthcare Systems, LLC gave me the opportunity to meet clients in their own communities. I supported individuals and families dealing with anxiety, depression, and trauma—often in underserved or high-stress environments—offering care that was both direct and empowering. As a Clinical Area Manager for Outreach Recovery in South Florida, I combined leadership with hands-on therapeutic support. I helped manage teams of clinicians while also working with clients in recovery, offering them consistent, person-centered support through every step of their healing journey. One of the most rewarding chapters of my career was working as a co-located Mental Health Therapist within the Palm Beach County School District. There, I partnered with educators and families to support children and teens navigating emotional difficulties, school challenges, and personal transitions. It was an experience that reminded me daily of the resilience and strength within young people—and the importance of early, compassionate intervention. These diverse roles have strengthened my belief that everyone deserves accessible, supportive, and affirming mental health care. My goal is to offer a space where clients feel safe, understood, and empowered to move forward.
