Get To Know Me
What would be important for someone to know about working with you?
I pride myself in being a calm and uplifting therapist, seeing the positive in a person's life and holding that up to see. I also take pride in calling people out for the things they can do better and keeping that person accountable for the goals they choose to set.
In what ways does your personality influence your approach to therapy?
My personality can be clearly seen in the hawiian shirts I wear to sessions, the vast amount of toys I have in my office to use in therapy, and the homework I give on occasion for a patient to watch a film or tv show and report back in our next session. My lively, nerdy, and joyful approaches to life can be seen in our sessions to provide more than just a dreary conversation.
What does a first session with you look like?
You can expect three things in our first session: First, I go over the cans and cannots of therapy, what we will and won't do. Second, you can explain to me in whatever level of detail what brings you to therapy and what you want to achieve. Finally, we create some general goals to establish our first steps on the path to change!

Education
University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, 2023
Work HistoryI can see children as young as 4 years old, for various concerns such as behavior issues, aggression, depression, anxiety, grief, self-esteem, and needed coping skills. I also see adults of any age and welcome you if your concerns are grief, anger, emotion regulation, life transition issues, depression, or other things that are related.
I am training to become a Play Therapist, these skills can be used with children or teen, though I also aim to use those skills with adults as well. My space has plenty of toys and items to encourage therapeutic growth. In addition, I use the scientific methods of Cognitive Behavioral and Dialectical Behavior therapies to assist in the growth of each person.
This is my philosophy when it comes to our therapy sessions and my own life; Laughter, play and accountability allow us to create, and live healthy and meaningful lives. No matter your struggles, your child's concerns, or the hurt within your family: I will do my very best to ensure you are heard and you gain the appropriate tools and skills needed.
