Get To Know Me
What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
While working with a non-profit providing legal support to individuals impacted by intimate partner violence, I noticed that many of the clients I spoke with naturally began processing their traumatic experiences with me. Realizing how deeply they needed a safe space to heal, I decided to become a Social Worker. Since then I focused my career on providing Bilingual clinical services focused on helping individuals navigate and heal from trauma.
If there was one thing you wish people knew about the therapy experience who might be hesitant to try it, what would that be?
I wish people knew that therapy is a truly collaborative experience. In my sessions, I look to you as the expert on your own life, and I rely on you to guide me toward what you need. When we begin working together, I am constantly checking in to ensure you feel safe and heard, and I am always willing to adjust our approach to make sure it is a perfect fit for you.
What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?
I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT) treatment modalities. In our work together, these modalities will help us build practical coping skills, process past and present stressors, and gently reframe unhelpful thinking patterns. I practice with a solution-focused lens, meaning my goal is to help you see real, tangible improvement in your daily life. To bridge the gap between our weekly sessions, I may suggest brief, out-of-session exercises to help you practice and strengthen your new skills in real-time.
