Education
Grand Canyon University, Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, 2024 — I began my education with an undergraduate degree in Social Science from Portland State University and proceeded to obtain a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Grand Canyon University in 2024. Major coursework included ethics, group counseling, theory, social and cultural diversity, marriage and family systems, child abuse and crisis trauma, and assessment and treatment work.
Work HistoryOver ten years ago I ventured into this field as a behavior technician, working with adolescents with autism spectrum disorder, in private-and-public school settings. Later, I transitioned to community mental health, providing services to those experiencing severe persistent mental illness, chronic conditions, substance use, homelessness and familial dysfunction. Transitioning into private practice has awarded me the opportunity to offer a unique perspective on therapeutic services, presenting with an approach that combines elements of positive psychology principles and practices that help individuals explore the relationship between thought, emotion and experience to construct solutions that encourage balance and overall wellbeing. I encourage wraparound care and incorporate varying modalities to actively engage beyond talk therapy so individuals can gain awareness of their own strengths, tools and resources.
