Work HistoryEmpowering Communities Through Counseling, Coaching & Care: My Journey in Mental Health and Wellness With over two decades of experience in education and mental health, I’ve had the incredible honor of serving individuals, families, and communities across Florida. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Consultant, and Founder of the Seed Sowing Sistah Movement, LLC, I’ve dedicated my life to planting seeds of healing, faith, and emotional wellness—especially in spaces where they are needed the most. In 2022, I launched Seed Sowing Sistah Movement to offer life coaching and counseling services that help people overcome burnout, work-related stress, and major life transitions. Through both one-on-one and group sessions, I guide clients as they develop practical tools for healing and personal growth. I also facilitate professional development workshops focused on burnout recovery, effective communication, and mental wellness—working with educators, faith-based leaders, and professionals who pour into others but often neglect themselves. Before stepping fully into private practice, I worked at BayCare Healthcare System (2019–2022), where I supported clients in finding hope and clarity as they faced emotional challenges, relationship struggles, and recovery from various dependencies. Helping them build a life beyond therapy was one of the most fulfilling parts of my role. From 2015 to 2022, I served at DACCO, where I facilitated psychoeducational groups, anger management sessions, life skills development, and grief support. I also welcomed and onboarded clients into intensive outpatient programs and provided hands-on training to interns and colleagues—fostering both clinical growth and a culture of compassion. Earlier in my career, I held foundational roles including Licensed Assessor at LifeShare Management, Intake Coordinator at New Vision, and Intern at Lifescape Solutions. Each of these positions strengthened my skills in assessment, planning, and client-centered care. These early experiences laid the foundation for how I serve today—with a trauma-informed, holistic approach that meets people where they are. Before becoming a counselor, I spent over 15 years as an educator in the Miami-Dade Public Schools system. Working with students with learning disabilities like ADHD, and leading parent and staff workshops, gave me deep insight into the emotional needs of both children and the adults who support them. Those years in the classroom helped shape my passion for mental wellness in school settings and beyond. My path into mental health officially began with volunteer counseling roles at Christ Us Renewal Center and The North Regional Family Success Center. There, I led group and individual sessions, facilitated anger management groups, and connected families with much-needed resources. During my internship at New Horizons Community Mental Health Center, I co-led psychoeducational groups with youth and adults facing serious mental health and substance use challenges. Throughout every season of my journey, I’ve remained grounded in service, empathy, and advocacy. I’ve walked beside people in crisis, helped professionals find balance, and created spaces—whether in classrooms, churches, or community centers—where healing conversations begin. Whether I’m offering therapy, speaking at a workshop, or mentoring the next generation of counselors, my mission remains clear: to empower others to break generational cycles, rediscover their strength, and walk boldly into a future of wellness and wholeness. The seeds I plant today are meant to grow into legacies of healing, one life at a time.
