What are some the unique issues faced by clients in your particular field of specialization, in terms of mental health education, care, and/or treatment?

Clients who have trauma symptoms like strong triggers that are impossible to control or regulate often benefit from EMDR. Clients really respond to attachment based processing that includes their intergenerational influences from their extended family and ancestors. Couples find this helpful as well as Emotion Focused Therapy and the Gottman method. Clients with Eating Disorders benefit from IFS parts work, Radically Open DBT, regular DBT and Body Positivity work. Clients with anxiety and/or depression can find help as well from all of these kinds of therapy.

Education

John F. Kennedy University, Master of Arts, Counseling Psychology with Specialization in Holistic Studies, 2009

I hold a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology with a Specialization in Holistic Studies from John F. Kennedy University in California. This degree provided the foundations of Counseling Psychology, Systems Theory as well as training in the integration of mind/body/spirit and courses in Somatic and Transpersonal therapies.

Work History

I have worked in private practice providing psychotherapy to the community at group practices and solo practice. Over the last few years I have worked hard at gaining new training and consultation to help my clients in several ways. I currently provide EMDR and client-centered therapy to various populations suffering from depression, anxiety, PTSD, trauma, disordered eating, and couples who are struggling. I work with all people and welcome couples of all backgrounds and orientations. I help people recover from abuse and find their identity again, recover from depression and anxiety, and to work on their relationship with self, then others.
