Work HistoryWith over 25 years in child development, I have study how the experiences and the relationships we have as children and growing up shapes how we respond, interpret and perceive people’s actions and words, as well as shapes our view of ourselves. Those experiences can lead to unhealthy patterns and relationships, but those experiences don’t define us. Healing is possible and my goal is to support you in transforming difficult experiences into growth and self-discovery. As someone who’s walked the path of healing myself, I bring a mix of empathy, lived experience and therapeutic training. My approach is caring, collaborative and compassionate, and integrates evidence-based methods including Trauma-Informed Care (TIC), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and mindfulness. I hold a Bachelor of Psychology from SMU, a Master of Education from the University of Texas at Austin and I am currently completing my Master of Social Work program at the University of Texas at Arlington, under the supervision of Dr. Jennifer Vasquez, PhD, LCSW-S.
