Get To Know Me
What would be important for someone to know about working with you?
I am aware of the fact that my profession/livelihood is dependent on someone being, in one manner or another, unwell. Clients should expect that we will begin planning their discharge from the first session: discussing measurable goals, timelines, steps and how accountability will be implemented, for the both of us. Clients that work with me can be confident that I will work to help them achieve their treatment goals in a reasonable and appropriate time-frame, with their best-interest in mind.

Work HistoryMy clients have been from all walks of life: from people experiencing homelessness to executives and every station in between. I have successfully provided services to incarcerated folks as well as First Responders and Veterans. I have provided services on a Psychiatric Unit at a hospital, residential settings, group homes, and even in the living rooms of clients. From people experiencing Serious and Persistent mental Illness to those who are coming in as part of their Employee Assistance Program after sudden, stressful changes in their lives. By trade, I'm a Social Worker and I have been a licensed Social Worker since 2013.but earned my Clinical/Independent designation in 2015 while living and working in Pennsylvania. I moved to SC in 2016 and transferred my Clinical License to NC, where I have been working ever since. In 2019, I was approved for a license to practice independently in SC. My Graduate program focused on the ways Trauma is common to the human experience and the trainings I have completed since I earned my graduate degree have been predominantly those addressing trauma such as EMDR, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Prolonged Exposure, and Most recently, Accelerated Resolution Therapy. I started this practice Cognitions Counseling because I want to offer these services to adults in need of evening sessions.
