Work HistoryMy path to becoming a therapist was not exactly linear; I went to college with the goal of helping make change on the community level. I studied urban and public affairs in undergraduate school, subsequently studied public administration in graduate school, and started working in government and nonprofit agencies. I was fortunate enough to work alongside social workers and saw firsthand the impact that they had on the lives of the people my organization was serving; I knew that I too wanted to do this kind of work. I decided to return to school to pursue my Master of Social Work. I have since had many amazing opportunities as a social worker and have worked in schools, residential treatment centers, foster care, and adoption. The experiences, skills, and lessons learned from all of these opportunities helped make me the therapist I am today.
