What does success look like in therapy? How will a client know that they are making progress?
Success is an interesting word to use for therapy. I like the words growth and healing much more, but I chose this question for that reason. So often clients come into therapy expecting to achieve some sort of "success" or "ultimate healing" while in reality successful therapy looks much more like learning to grow, adapt, continual healing, and learning coping tools and skills to help them live a healthier, happier, and more fulfilling life.
What would be important for someone to know about working with you?
I am an open-minded person that is willing to dive into more complex topics, such as LGBTQIA+ needs, sex therapy, faith transitions, complex trauma, and working with couples and children. My work focuses on identifying triggers, establishing healthy relationships, and creating new thought and behavioral patterns through a variety of therapeutic techniques that will help all people learn how to heal, grow, find purpose, and establish a life full of hope and joy. I am passionate about empowering people to find the tools that will help them live their best life. I believe in encouraging clients to be the expert in their healing journeys and help them reach their goals.
