Get To Know Me
What is your style/approach to therapy?
My approach is warm, direct, and collaborative. I believe therapy should feel both safe and useful — a space where you can be fully yourself and also be challenged in ways that promote growth. I don’t sit back and just nod; I ask thoughtful questions, offer perspective, and help you make meaningful connections between what’s happening in your life and what you want for yourself.
My work is grounded in CBT, strengths-based, solution-focused, trauma-informed, and humanistic approaches. That means we’ll explore both your internal patterns and the systems you move within — looking at how past experiences, relationships, and environments have shaped your current story. I aim to help you build insight, clarity, and confidence in your own decision-making so you can move forward with less self-doubt and more self-trust.
What does success look like in therapy? How will a client know that they are making progress?
Success in therapy isn’t about never feeling stressed or upset again — it’s about responding to life differently. My clients often know they’re making progress when they start to notice more space between a trigger and their reaction, when they can set boundaries without as much guilt, or when they catch themselves showing up with more honesty and calm than before.
Progress might look like having new language for what you’re feeling, recognizing patterns that used to run on autopilot, or giving yourself permission to rest instead of pushing through. Over time, you’ll likely feel more grounded, more self-aware, and more confident trusting your own judgment.
Therapy isn’t about perfection — it’s about movement, awareness, and building a life that feels more like your own.
What does a first session with you look like?
The first session is a chance for us to slow down and get to know each other. I’ll ask about what’s bringing you to therapy, what’s been feeling hard, and what you hope will be different. You don’t have to have everything figured out — we’ll sort through it together.
I take time to understand both the context of your life and the systems you’re part of, whether that’s work, family, or something else. My goal is to create a space that feels grounded, respectful, and collaborative. By the end of the session, you’ll have a clearer sense of what it’s like to work with me and whether it feels like the right fit for you.
