What is your style/approach to therapy?

I'm uniquely equipped to help with anxiety, panic attacks, OCD, binge eating, emotional eating, negative body image, and perfectionism. I create a safe and non-judgmental space where you can be yourself. My style is warm, active, and encouraging. Together, we'll understand how fear and self-judgment are getting in the way of the life you want. I'll equip you with tools to change unhelpful patterns of thought and behavior. As a result of our work together, you'll cultivate more peace, confidence, and joy.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I'm skilled in several evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindful Self-Compassion, Health at Every Size (HAES), and Intuitive Eating. I'll tailor these approaches to your unique circumstances and needs. Together, we'll set goals, and I will create a treatment plan to help you reach them. I'll help you develop more effective ways of working through your difficulties. I may also suggest between-session assignments to help you achieve real, long-lasting results. I'll help you take small steps to make larger changes in your life and support you every step of the way!

In what ways have your personal experiences influenced your work with your clients?

One of my greatest guiding ethical principles is that everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. I immigrated to the United States from Ukraine in 1995. I deeply honor multiculturalism and intersectionality. I meet clients of different races, ethnicities, national origins, sexual orientations, gender identities, sizes, and ability levels with respect. I honor these differences and the impact of systemic factors on mental health and well-being.

Work History

I received my PhD in Clinical Psychology from Hofstra University in 2012. My training has been rich and comprehensive, and I continue learning because I value growth and giving my clients the best support. I've dedicated my career to helping individuals with anxiety, panic, phobias, OCD, binge eating, emotional eating, and perfectionism. My clinical work has spanned hospital, university counseling center, community health center, and private practice settings. Before founding my private practice, Compass CBT, I spent nine years working at a top private practice group in New York City.
