In what ways have your personal experiences influenced your work with your clients?
I grew up in Appalachia, an area that is rural and whose community members often struggle with mental health and substance abuse needs. I have seen first hand how difficult it is to access culturally appropriate and responsive care. I am also a military spouse who has seen how challenging it can be for service members and families to overcome barriers to care. These experiences, and the communities I have worked within, continue to inspire my practice.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
My approach to therapy is empathetic, curious, anti-oppressive, and participatory in nature. I work alongside my clients to achieve their unique goals, while honoring their lived experiences and strengths.
What does a first session with you look like?
In our first session together, we will allow ample time to get to know each other. I will ask questions regarding your history and what brings you to seek therapy. I will also answer any questions or concerns you may have along the way. We will work together to identify the direction you would like to go, and brainstorm ways in which I may support you in achieving your goals.

Work HistoryAs someone who travels often, I have had the opportunity to live and work in diverse communities across the United States and Abroad. My background includes providing substance use and addiction treatment to adults, incarcerated individuals, and teens. I also have experience working in a hospital setting providing PTSD treatment to active duty military members, veterans, and their families. I have experience working with the Red Cross, providing mental health services in times of disaster. I have also volunteered in Amman, Jordan, providing english language enrichment to educators.
