What would be important for someone to know about working with you?

If you are an Autistic adult or teen seeking autism-focused and neurodivergent affirming therapy, I will help you feel safe, supported, and heard with compassion and, as an Autistic therapist myself, I truly get it! I specialize in providing neurodiversity affirming therapy for autistic adults and teens. As a therapist, who is also autistic, I understand the unique challenges that come with being autistic and I am dedicated to providing a safe and understanding space for you to work through your concerns. Living as an autistic person can be challenging and can lead to difficulties such as anxiety and depression, masking and autistic burnout, emotional distress caused by meltdowns and shutdowns, low self-esteem, family conflict, and difficulties with work or school performance, among many other concerns. I am also LGBTQIA+, non-binary, and transgender affirming; disability informed; and aware of intersecting forms of discrimination. I strive to create a safe and inclusive space for all of my clients, and I understand the importance of addressing the unique challenges faced by marginalized communities.

In what ways do your life philosophy and treatment philosophy overlap?

I understand that each autistic person is unique. Thus, I work with you to create an individualized therapy plan that is tailored to your specific needs. I also place a strong emphasis on soothing sensory needs and mindful self-care. I believe that taking care of oneself is an essential part of the healing process and I work with you to develop self-care strategies that can be integrated into your daily life.

What does a first session with you look like?

After you get in contact with me, we'll have a brief conversation about the concerns you are facing to see if I am the best fit. I will arrange your first appointment and provide information regarding intake forms, payment method, and the ease of online teletherapy. Most importantly, I will answer any additional questions you might have. The first appointment is a chance to get acquainted and for me to share information. I will gather further details on what brings you to therapy and the goals you would like to achieve. If you or a loved one is autistic and is looking for an autistic therapist who understands and affirms neurodiversity, please contact me to schedule a free consultation. I would be honored to be a part of your journey towards healing and self-discovery.
