In what ways have your personal experiences influenced your work with your clients?
My experience as a trauma survivor and as a neurodivergent adult helps me support other adults who struggle with day-to-day life, enabling me to help them identify difficulties and work-arounds without shame.
What are some the unique issues faced by clients in your particular field of specialization, in terms of mental health education, care, and/or treatment?
In working with clients who struggle with addiction or who have been incarcerated, I have learned that many of them had undiagnosed learning disabilities that contributed significantly to their difficulties.
What do you think is the biggest barrier today for people seeking care?
POVERTY.
As such, I will say here that while I do not accept insurance, my session pricing is INCOME DRIVEN, which is more flexible than the typical sliding scale structure.
It is in this way that I hope to increase access while maintaining freedom for both practitioner and client, to forge a path of recovery that is not dictated by bureaucracies with bottom lines.
