What would be important for someone to know about working with you?
While my approach is grounded in clinical knowledge and experience, I believe your relationship with your therapist should feel warm and compassionate, not cold and impersonal. I will take time to learn about what's happening in your life and work with you to focus on areas where you'd like to see change. While I do believe part of a therapist's job is to give honest feedback, my approach is gentle and collaborative rather than confrontational. I don't generally assign specific homework but often clients will come away from sessions with a new behavior or thought pattern to practice.

Work HistoryI have been a therapist and counselor in private practice for over 13 years. After working in non-profit fundraising for nearly 10 years, my fascination with people’s life stories led me to choose a career helping others find new ways to tap into and fulfill their potential. As a therapist intern, I served as a school counselor at Leland High School, Castillero Middle School, Union Middle School, Guadalupe Elementary School and Los Alamitos Elementary School. I’ve taught parenting classes for parents of children of all age groups. I’ve also provided supportive telephone crisis counseling at Santa Clara County’s Suicide and Crisis Hotline and at Contact Cares Crisis Hotline.
