Training/CertificationsI complete multicultural trainings, ethics, drug abuse and treatment, as well as gender and LGBTQIA+ trainings annually to keep both my NY and NJ licenses current.
Education
Columbia University, Master of Education, Counseling Psychology, 1998 — I've earned certificates in both intermediate and high school guidance counseling as well as a license in mental health counseling.
Work HistoryFor over 20 years I've worked with adults with intellectual disabilities in day programs. I have and continue to work with families and caregivers and conduct psychological testing with this population. I began private practice work in 2013 working with adults. My practice draws on a range of therapeutic approaches with a focus on helping clients develop increased understanding, effective coping skills, and positive self esteem. I view psychotherapy as a collaborative process and assist clients in identifying and achieving their goals. I have experience writing requests for reasonable accommodations for clients as well as letters of gender affirmation.
