What is your style/approach to therapy?
Therapy with me is a partnership. I believe you are the expert on your own life, while my role is to help you understand yourself more fully, process difficult experiences, and heal from what's been weighing you down. My therapeutic approach integrates cognitive-behavioral (CBT), dialectical (DBT), somatic, psychodynamic, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and narrative interventions to help you create lasting, meaningful change. Since there's no one-size-fits-all in healing, our work together will be tailored to your unique needs and a pace that feels safe, supportive, and sustainable for you. This can include building insight, developing practical coping strategies, and fostering self-compassion, resilience, and a stronger sense of self. We will always work at a pace that feels safe, supportive, and sustainable for you.
What would be important for someone to know about working with you?
I believe therapy can be a space where you no longer have to perform, explain, or minimize your feelings, and strive to create a safe, compassionate environment where you feel truly seen, heard, and understood. My practice is trauma-informed, culturally responsive, BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ affirming, and I welcome clients with diverse identities, needs, and concerns. I specialize in working with clients navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma/complex PTSD (including survivors of assault/abuse), intersectional/minoritized identities, life transitions, relationship/academic/workplace challenges, immigration/acculturation stress, emotional dysregulation, burnout, and low self-esteem. I also speak English, Hindi, and Bengali, and accept most major insurances.
Is there any research-based work you’ve done that you found particularly exciting, and how has that informed your practice today?
Beyond the therapy room, I am a Harvard-trained researcher committed to advancing accessible mental health care. I bring that same commitment into every session, ensuring therapy is grounded in both research and genuine human connection. My work emphasizes evidence-based practices while honoring each person's lived experiences, values, strengths, and goals.
