Get To Know Me
What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
My path to becoming a therapist started out in 2012, upon embarking on the human services journey as an instructional aide and interning at a runaway shelter in my local neighborhood. After teaching and also obtaining experience as an alcohol/drug counselor for seven years, I decided to begin the Master's of Science in Counseling Psychology in 2020. Since 2020, I have been practicing as a therapist with a mix of experience in nonprofit organizations and now private practice.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
Clients can expect to take away from sessions a sense of “feeling lighter” and having a supportive space to process emotions/feelings. Furthermore, clients can obtain concrete tools to cope with anxiety/panic or life stressors & can also be given tailored interventions to suit their specific needs (homework, worksheets, etc.).
What would be important for someone to know about working with you?
During these uncertain times, mental health is of utmost concern. Isolation, anxiety, life stressors, & financial worries can all have a detrimental impact on one's mental health. Teamwork makes the dream work, and I'd like to accompany you to the moon with a fishing pole! Personal connection can be hard to come by & one of my goals is to create a genuine connection. It might appear impossible to connect with an individual, talk about life, and progress in personal development, but we got this! I like to practice with an open mind, open heart, and kind spirit. I am able to meet you where you're at in life's journey. Therapy is a process, not a destination, and I would like to be a part of your process in discovering parts of yourself. If you are looking for a safe space to share the human condition in its totality, feel free to contact me!
