Under Clinical Supervision
Miss. Samantha Kipfinger, Associate Clinical Social Worker, ISW19871 is practicing under the supervision of Jessica Dimaria (Florida, LCSW, SW17667) at Hopeful Horizons Counseling, LLC.
Please, note: A clinician listed as being “clinically supervised” is completing clinical hours toward their licensure. They have one or more fully licensed clinical supervisors that often have special training to become supervisors. They consult with their supervisor(s) on all of their cases, which means that, when working with them, you are getting the time and expertise of multiple therapists in your treatment.
What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
I have completed both a bachelors and masters degree in social work, and I have worked in a variety of social services settings. I chose this profession because I wanted to make a difference to those in my community and because I'm really passionate about mental health. I think that social work helps to bridge my passions together and I'm so grateful to be able to make a positive impact in the lives of my clients.
What does success look like in therapy? How will a client know that they are making progress?
Success looks different in therapy depending on the client. In my opinion, I think each client has the ability to succeed in therapy as long as they show up! A client will know they are making progress when they begin to feel lighter and when they can identify that their therapy goals are met. During our first few sessions, we will work together to identify your strengths and goals (yes, they're there! you have strengths and goals even if you haven't identified them yet!) that will guide our sessions each time we meet. Therapy is not a "one and done" type of event. Therapy is a process, and some days you'll feel great and other days you'll probably wonder why you continue to show up. All of those feelings are valid and normal, and I'm honored to be able to walk alongside of you and help you to process all the feelings that come up in therapy. My ultimate goal as your therapist is to support you, uplift you and offer you tools to take with you on your journey throughout life.
What do you think is the biggest barrier today for people seeking care?
I think the biggest barrier today for clients seeking mental health care is the cost of services. Usually, in order to receive good quality services, that's reflected in the amount you pay. I am very passionate about making quality mental health services affordable, so please don't let the cost of sessions hinder you from reaching out! Please reach out to me and I will guarantee that you receive the best services you can regardless of your ability to pay. I offer a sliding scale based on income so my services are affordable to anyone who needs someone to talk to!

Work History
I have had experience working with the homeless population doing case management, working with clients experiencing substance abuse and working with children, adolescents and adults in a one-on-one therapy setting. I have also worked as a Youth Director and a Pastoral Intern, which allowed me to integrate faith-based works into my practices as a clinician. My work history has given me a well rounded approach, and I think that I'm the social worker I am today because of my lived experiences.
