Education
Wake Forest University, Master of Arts, Community Mental Health, 2015 — My practicum and internship were at Lexington County Community Mental Health Center. I was a member of Chi Sigma Iota (an international and professional academic honor society for counseling students, counselor educators, and professional counselors) and have maintained my membership. I was invited to be a Practitioner Instructor for Wake Forest in 2018.
Work HistoryI began working in the medical field in 1996. Ultimately, I landed in the clinical drug research industry and worked in the industry for nearly twenty years. I worked in Rheumatology, Gastroenterology, and Women's Health. It was during this time that I realized that we cannot separate the body, mind, and spirit. My medical background enhances the work that I do with clients and improves clinical outcomes for mental health concerns.
