Under Clinical Supervision
Sara Silliman, Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, N/A is practicing under the supervision of Michelle Snapp (Pennsylvania, LMFT, MF001157) at Choosing Change Counseling.
Please, note: A clinician listed as being “clinically supervised” is completing clinical hours toward their licensure. They have one or more fully licensed clinical supervisors that often have special training to become supervisors. They consult with their supervisor(s) on all of their cases, which means that, when working with them, you are getting the time and expertise of multiple therapists in your treatment.
What would be important for someone to know about working with you?
I greatly value the therapist-client relationship and the rapport we build. Our relationship is the foundation of good therapy.
In what ways does your personality influence your approach to therapy?
I'm not afraid to be my authentic self with clients. I love to use humor in session (therapy's not always that serious). As a Gen-Zer, I am able to relate to a lot of my younger clients, as they are able to relate to me as well.
How does collaboration with other providers play into your work?
I value collaborative care in my work with clients. As a systemically trained therapist, I am always considering the network and system that we find ourselves in. I am always up for advocating for my client's needs, whether that's speaking with another mental health professional or my client's school supports.

Work History
My first experience as a Marriage and Family Therapist was as an intern therapist at Council for Relationships in Philadelphia, PA. Here, I worked with individuals (ranging from age 8 to 72), couples, and families. I worked with these clients on a variety of issues such as; anxiety, depression, self-esteem, relational conflict, communication, co-parenting, life transitions, and sex therapy. During this time, I also ran social-emotional therapy groups at a K-5 school in Philadelphia. Currently, I am working as a pre-licensed Marriage and Family therapist with individuals, couples, and families, with an emphasis on tweens/adolescents, young adults, and families with adolescents and young adults. I specialize in anxiety, self-esteem, relational and familial concerns, life transitions, identity development, and LGBTQIA+.
