Get To Know Me
What is your style/approach to therapy?
My approach blends evidence-based trauma therapy with warmth, creativity, and compassion. Therapy with me feels cozy, safe, and relatable, not clinical or cold. I am trained in EMDR, the gold standard for trauma treatment and integrate Parts Work to help you name and befriend the parts of you that have helped get you this far. I have training in art therapy and enjoy incorporating creative expression in sessions to help my clients process at a deeper level without having to say anything out loud. I also believe that laughter is sometimes the best medicine and enjoy bringing humor into my work with clients as a way to cope and process.
What does a first session with you look like?
Our first session will be focused on getting to know one another and the hopes and goals that you have for the therapy process. I want to learn more about what brought you to seek support at this time, as well as about the things in your life that are most important to you including family, friends, hobbies, work, faith, etc. I might take notes to help me remember things in between our sessions, and you are always welcome to look at these notes at any time - no secrets here! You will have plenty of time to ask questions about me, the therapy process, and what to expect in our work going forward. My main goal in our first session, and in all our sessions to come, is to help you feel as safe, comfortable, and seen as possible!

Work HistoryI started my career as a therapist at a non-profit organization working with women and children experiencing homelessness. During my time there, I found a deep passion for supporting women through the experiences and essence that unite us, regardless of race, religion, or background. I developed the therapeutic style and approaches that still inform and guide my work today, and I continue to see and experience just how essential a trusting, warm, authentic, and comfortable therapeutic space and relationship is in creating meaningful change. Since my time in non-profit work, I have transitioned to private practice where I continue to support women and teen girls in overcoming past hurts and uncovering their truest self. It is an honor and privilege to bear witness to my clients' stories and to help them recognize the strength and power that has been inside them all along.
