Under Clinical Supervision

Selina Markiewicz, Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate, LPCC.0021383 is practicing under the supervision of Meagan Clark (Colorado, LPC, LPC.0018499) at Her Time Therapy, LLC.

Please, note: A clinician listed as being “clinically supervised” is completing clinical hours toward their licensure. They have one or more fully licensed clinical supervisors that often have special training to become supervisors. They consult with their supervisor(s) on all of their cases, which means that, when working with them, you are getting the time and expertise of multiple therapists in your treatment.

What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?

I've learned firsthand that life has a funny way of leading you to places you never quite imagined. I started college with the goal of becoming a writer but discovered I was more interested in my psychology courses than my writing courses. Catching me by surprise, I had no idea what it meant or what I was going to do with it, but I changed my major to psychology. Since then, I've had quite a lengthy career in higher education, spent time building and running my own photography business, and found myself enjoying several years as a stay-at-home parent. Like so many others, I've experienced many challenges and tragedies throughout life. I can attest to the power of counseling through my own therapy experiences as they've helped me to process emotions and find the inner strength to get through whatever life has thrown my way. A few years ago, everything seemed to click into place when I had a fundamental shift in my perspective that made me realize I wanted to be the one to help others feel the impact counseling can have. With that in mind, I began my journey in pursuing a counseling degree and creating a safe, judgment-free place for others.

What would be important for someone to know about working with you?

I work from a person-centered foundation and integrate other modalities such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy based on your needs and preferences. Everyone has the ability to heal and flourish, but sometimes we need someone to walk with us during the more difficult parts. My goal is to listen, support, and work with you to discover your strengths and utilize tools that make the most sense to move you forward in your journey.
