What would be important for someone to know about working with you?
I believe therapy works best when you feel genuinely seen, heard, and accepted. Whether you're navigating trauma, relationship challenges, substance use, anxiety, depression, life transitions, or simply feeling stuck, you don't have to have everything figured out before coming to therapy.
My role isn't to judge or tell you what to do, it's to help you better understand yourself, identify what's getting in the way, and support you in creating meaningful, lasting change. Together, we'll explore the patterns, experiences, and challenges that have shaped your story while building the tools and confidence to move toward the life and relationships you want.
I strive to create a space where you can be honest about both your struggles and your successes without fear of criticism. My goal is to provide a compassionate, collaborative environment where healing, growth, and self-discovery can happen at your own pace.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
My hope is that clients leave each session feeling supported, understood, and equipped with something they can apply in their daily lives. Sometimes that may be a new perspective, a practical coping strategy, or greater insight into patterns that have been keeping them stuck. Over time, my goal is to help clients build confidence, strengthen healthy coping skills, improve relationships, and feel more empowered to navigate life's challenges, even when things aren't perfect.
What are your biggest strengths as a therapist?
One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to build genuine, trusting relationships with my clients. I believe people make the most progress when they feel safe enough to be honest about what they're experiencing. I am passionate about meeting clients where they are and treating the whole person, recognizing that each individual's experiences, strengths, and challenges are unique.
I combine compassion with honesty, offering support while also helping clients challenge the patterns that may be holding them back. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, I tailor therapy to each person's unique needs, goals, and stage of healing. I also understand that healing and recovery are rarely linear, so I approach setbacks with curiosity rather than judgment, helping clients learn from them instead of feeling defeated.
My goal is to create a collaborative, supportive environment where clients feel empowered to grow, develop greater self-awareness, build resilience, and create meaningful, lasting change.

Education
Messiah University, Master of Arts, Master of Arts ( MA) , 2021 — Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with training in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of a wide range of mental health concerns. My graduate education emphasized evidence-based therapeutic approaches, ethical practice, trauma-informed care, and working collaboratively with individuals to support meaningful, lasting change.
Capella University , Master of Science, MS in Human Services , 2008 — Master of Science in Human Services with a specialization in Criminal Justice. This graduate education provided a strong foundation in human behavior, social systems, ethics, and the criminal justice system. This background enhances my understanding of the complex challenges individuals may face, including substance use, trauma, and involvement with the legal system, and informs my compassionate, person-centered approach to counseling.
Work HistoryThroughout my career, I've had the privilege of working with individuals and couples navigating some of life's most difficult challenges. My experience includes supporting people recovering from substance use, healing from trauma, rebuilding relationships, and working through concerns related to intimacy, sexuality, and emotional connection.
I've worked with clients facing anxiety, depression, life transitions, grief, relationship conflict, and the lasting effects of childhood or relational trauma. I understand that every person's story is different, which is why I take a compassionate, nonjudgmental approach that meets you where you are. Whether you're looking to strengthen your relationship, heal from past experiences, explore intimacy concerns, or build a solid foundation in recovery, my goal is to provide a safe space where you feel heard, supported, and empowered to create meaningful change.
I believe therapy should feel like a collaborative conversation, not a place where you're judged or expected to have all the answers. Together, we'll work toward practical tools, deeper insight, and lasting growth at a pace that feels right for you.
