Professional Background
LicensureNevada, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, CP5470
Education
University of Nevada, Reno, Master of Arts, Counseling with an emphasis in Clinical Mental Health, 2018 — I have my Bachelors degree in Human Development and Family Studies with a minor in Addictions. I received my Masters degree from the University of Nevada, Reno in Counseling with an emphasis in Clinical Mental Health. A Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) provides psychotherapy for individuals experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, and life transitions. LCPCs are trained to deliver clinical therapy with an emphasis on assessment, treatment planning, and evidence-based therapeutic approaches. This training allows them to focus on emotional regulation, behavior patterns, and coping strategies that support mental health. Unlike some other mental health licenses, LCPCs complete extensive supervised clinical training and are qualified to provide ongoing psychotherapy and crisis-focused care when appropriate.
Work HistoryI've spent the last seven years working with young people and families during their most difficult moments. After earning my Master's in Counseling from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2018, I went straight into crisis work. I've sat with kids and teens who were suicidal, self-harming, or expressing thoughts of hurting others. I've supported families who didn't know how to help their struggling child. I have a background in Human Development and Family Studies, combined with a minor in Addictions, I've worked with teens experimenting with drugs and adults trying to break free from addiction. I use a practical, skills-based approach in my work to help people challenge the thoughts that keep them stuck and give them tools to manage overwhelming emotions in the moment. Also, EMDR for processing trauma that talk therapy alone can't always reach. My job is to create a space where you feel safe enough to be honest and supported enough to take risks, and keep going. Ready to start building that resilience? If you’d like support, you can reach me through Insight Therapy Solutions at 888-409-8976.
