How does collaboration with other providers play into your work?
Collaboration with other providers is essential in my work. Not only is it important to discuss medical history, treatment history, and medications with your current providers, but case consultation is also critical. As a group practice owner, I interface with nearly two dozen highly skilled therapists weekly. I think matching you with a provider who fits you best based on personality, style, specialty areas, and availability is essential in the therapeutic process. I am happy to work alongside you as we find the best fit for you and your treatment goals.
What do you think is the biggest barrier today for people seeking care?
One of the most significant barriers for people seeking care is stigma. While American culture has come a long way regarding destigmatizing mental health, many overt and covert stigmas remain. Sometimes the people closest to us- friends and family- perpetuate these stigmas or tell us what we "should" or "shouldn't" be doing. This is not helpful for folks who are already having a hard time reaching out for help. As a result, stigma continues to pose a large barrier for those seeking mental health care.
What do you like about the practice or clinic you currently work at?
My team at Cook Counseling and Consulting Inc. is incredible. With over 70 clinicians on staff, we have diversity in terms of specialties, modalities, and provider identities. I feel grateful every day that I am surrounded by such talented mental health experts.

Work History
Welcome to Cook Counseling and Consulting Inc., where compassion, expertise, and innovation converge to provide you with the best mental health care. I am honored to introduce myself as the CEO and founder of this practice, and I am deeply committed to promoting well-being and healing in our community. About Me: With a lifelong passion for mental health and a 6-year career dedicated to improving the lives of others, I founded Cook Counseling and Consulting Inc. with the Vision of creating a safe and supportive space for individuals seeking to enhance their mental and emotional well-being. My Journey: In the pursuit of healing and understanding, my professional journey commenced with a dedicated focus on treating trauma, specifically with a deep-seated interest in supporting veterans and active-duty service members. Witnessing these individuals upon returning to civilian life ignited my passion for providing tailored, empathetic therapeutic interventions. As my commitment to the mental well-being of those who serve grew, so did my desire to comprehensively grasp the complexities surrounding burnout, compassion fatigue, and secondary trauma – pervasive issues affecting not only the military community but individuals across various professions. Recognizing the critical intersection of mental health and organizational well-being, I made the intentional decision to advance my education. Venturing into uncharted territory, I pursued a Doctor of Healthcare Administration, driven by the aspiration to delve deeper into the intricacies of burnout, compassion fatigue, and the broader landscape of corporate wellness. This academic pursuit became a profound undertaking, a bridge between the profound experiences of trauma therapy and the systemic challenges impacting professionals in various fields. This journey has not only enhanced my clinical acumen but has also equipped me with a holistic understanding of the organizational dynamics that contribute to mental health struggles. Armed with this comprehensive knowledge, my mission extends beyond the therapy room – to address, prevent, and alleviate the burdens contributing to burnout and compassion fatigue. My commitment remains unwavering: to advocate for the well-being of individuals who have faced trauma and to illuminate the path toward corporate wellness. Through this fusion of clinical expertise and administrative insight, I aspire to create lasting change, fostering environments where individuals can mentally, emotionally, and professionally thrive. Join me on this odyssey of healing, understanding, and transformation as we collectively navigate the intricate interplay between mental health, trauma, and corporate well-being. My Vision: Everyone should have access to high-quality mental health care. At Cook Counseling and Consulting Inc., we are committed to breaking down the barriers that may prevent individuals from seeking help. Our mission is to provide a space where you can heal, grow, and thrive. My Commitment: As the CEO and founder, I am dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of care within our practice.
